As Vice President, Services Research, Sébastien Ruest is responsible for leading IDC's research in the Canadian Services marketplace. Mr. Ruest heads a seasoned team of analysts who cover the broad range of IT related services, from Consulting and Integration, Corporate e-Learning, Infrastructure Optimization and the growing Outsourcing market. In addition, his team focuses on Global Delivery Models, BPO and Utility/On Demand services.
Based in Toronto, he provides valued advice and insights into industry trends, opportunities and competitive environments. Mr. Ruest also participates in IDC's ongoing international research forum to explore and define the firm's next generation services-focused research architecture.
Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Ruest had close to 10 years experience in corporate strategy, sales & marketing and research at IBM. Most recently, Mr. Ruest was a member of IBM's Americas Market Intelligence Group, where he led a team responsible for providing insights into opportunities, buyer behaviour and competitive environments for IBM Canada. Mr. Ruest began his career with IBM Global Services as the project leader of a large team responsible for designing Global Contact Centre Outsourcing solutions.
Mr. Ruest holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Edinburgh School of Business. He also holds a Masters of Science degree and a Bachelor's degree, both from McGill University. He is fluent in French and English.
